Week 1: Write Story and Create Illustrations Week 2: Background, Font, Clip Art, Photos Week 3: Animations and Sound Week 4-5: Narration and Transitions Week 6: Peer Editing/Revision

In order to make our stories digital, we will use a program called PowerPoint. By using PowerPoint, you will be able to add text, pictures, animations, sound and narration to your story. Let’s get started!

Each slide that you create will represent a page in your story. You will begin to use this program by typing your story onto different slides. In order to create a slide, click on the button titled “New Slide” on the toolbar above. Watch me!

Once you have typed all of your text onto different slides, you can change the background of your story. In order to change your background, click on the “Design” button on the toolbar. Then, choose your design. Watch me!

Did you know that you could change your font style, size, and color? In order to change your font style, size or color, highlight the text and change the features using the “Home” key on the toolbar above. Watch me!

Once your slides, background and font are finished you can upload your original artwork to your story. In order to upload a photo, click on the “Insert” tab on your toolbar. Then click picture and retrieve your photo from the computer. Watch me!

Once you have uploaded your pictures, you can format, or change them. In order to format a photo, right click on the picture that you want to format. Then choose what you want to add or change about your photo. Watch me!

Inserting clip art is another way to illustrate your story. In order to insert clip art, click on the “Insert” tab on your toolbar. Then click clip art to find illustrations. You can also use clip art online. Watch me!

Finally, you can change the layout of your slides. In order to change the layout, click the “Home” tab on your toolbar. Then click on the layout button. Scroll through the different options to watch your slides change. Watch me!
