Blood Moons and Signs of Jesus’ Second Coming Acts 2:17-21

The Prophecy of Acts 2: 16 – 21 (Joel 2:28-32) Act 2:16 …this is what was spoken by the prophet Joel: Act 2:17 "'In the last days, God says, I will pour out my Spirit on all people. Your sons and daughters will prophesy, your young men will see visions, your old men will dream dreams. Act 2:18 Even on my servants, both men and women, I will pour out my Spirit in those days, and they will prophesy.

The Prophecy of Acts 2: 16 – 21 (Joel 2:28-32) Act 2:19 I will show wonders in the heaven above and signs on the earth below, blood and fire and billows of smoke. Act 2:20 The sun will be turned to darkness and the moon to blood before the coming of the great and glorious day of the Lord. Act 2:21 And everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.'

Signs of His Coming Matt. 24:32 "Now learn this parable from the fig tree: When its branch has already become tender and puts forth leaves, you know that summer is near. Matt. 24:33 So you also, when you see all these things, know that it is near—at the doors! Matt. 24:34 Assuredly, I say to you, this generation will by no means pass away till all these things take place.

Does God Use the Heavens to Display His Glory and Give Us Signs? Absolutely Yes. Psalm 19:1 The heavens declare the glory of God; And the firmament shows His handiwork. Psalm 97:6 The heavens declare His righteousness, And all the peoples see His glory.

Has God Used Celestial Bodies in the Past for Signs? Absolutely Yes. Gen 1:14 Then God said, "Let there be lights in the firmament of the heavens to divide the day from the night; and let them be for signs and seasons, and for days and years; Joshua 10:12-14 The Sun stood still for Joshua and the Israelites in the battle with the Amorites. 2 Kings 20:8-11 The Sun went back 10 degrees for Hezekiah and Isaiah.

Will God Use Celestial Bodies Again in the Future? Absolutely Yes. Revelation 6:12, 13 “…great earthquake and the sun became black as sackcloth of hair and the moon became like blood.” Revelation 8:10 “… and a great star fell from heaven burning like a torch…” probably a large meteor or comet Revelation 9:2 “…the sun and air were darkened because of the smoke…”

Now look at Acts 2:17-21 and Joel 2:28-32 Acts 2:19 I WILL SHOW WONDERS IN HEAVEN ABOVE AND SIGNS IN THE EARTH BENEATH: BLOOD AND FIRE AND VAPOR OF SMOKE. Acts 2:20 THE SUN SHALL BE TURNED INTO DARKNESS, AND THE MOON INTO BLOOD, BEFORE THE COMING OF THE GREAT AND AWESOME DAY OF THE LORD. Acts 2:21 AND IT SHALL COME TO PASS THAT WHOSOEVER CALLS ON THE NAME OF THE LORD SHALL BE SAVED.'

Significance of the Blood Moons A Blood Moon = a Total Lunar Eclipse Only occurs at a full moon Perfect alignment of the moon, earth, and sun During a Total Lunar Eclipse – at the mid point the moon may take on a blood or coppery color due to the sunlight passing around the earth Blood moons can occur from 0 to 3 times in a year

Significance of the Blood Moons One Blood Moon in a year = not too unusual Two Blood Moons = getting more unusual Four Blood Moons (called a tetrad) over two back to back years = is very unusual and has only ever occurred 57 times in 2014 years Four Blood Moons on Exact Dates of 2 major biblical feasts = is extremely unusual has only ever occurred 8 times in last 2014 years The last 3 Tetrads had major importance to Israel… Dates: 1492/ / /68

Significance of the Blood Moons 2014/2015 is the next four Blood Moon event This time in addition, there will be a time of “darkened sun” with a solar eclipse between the 4 Blood Moons (3/20/2015) Dates for the Blood Moons are : April 14-15, 2014 Passover October 7-8, 2014 Feast of Tabernacles April 4-5, 2015 Passover September 28-29, 2015 Feast of Tabernacles

Celestial Bodies Can be a Sign of Jesus Coming or a Sign of Events to Come in Israel What will these 4 Blood Moon occurrences bring? Could it be to ready us for Jesus’ Second coming? Our God is in control of all things! Could it be something of major significance to Israel and in the middle East? Next 16 months will tell… It is time to get your life right with Jesus!
