Presentation transcript:

God pours out a blessing on faithful individuals AND faithful churches.

Why pay tithe through your local conference vs. sending it overseas or outside to another organization? You are personally supporting God’s work where you live and minister. In order for God’s work to advance in this part of the world, tithe dollars are needed. Various organizations you and your church receive a benefit from depend on tithe to operate. The tithe system supports world-wide movement that is culturally diverse.

QUESTION: What would happen if every church was staffed to the maximum amount their tithe would support? How about if lay-led plants all strived to have a full-time pastor when they reach a certain size?

Enough local funds is rarely a “money” problem, in most cases it is a “vision” problem.

The KEY to local Church giving is in becoming CHEERFUL givers!

“But this I say: He who sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and he who sows bountifully will also reap bountifully. So let each one give as he purposes in his heart, not grudgingly or of necessity; for God loves a cheerful giver.” II Corinthians 9:6-7

#1 Cheerful Givers Sow Bountifully!

The purpose of sowing is the harvest! Note: Additional resources are in the harvest!

Those churches who are the most systematic and liberal in sustaining the cause of God are the most prosperous spiritually. True liberality in the follower of Christ identifies his interest with that of his Master. The spiritual health and prosperity of the church is dependent in a great degree upon her systematic benevolence…

It is like the lifeblood which must flow through the whole being, vitalizing every member of the body. It increases love for the souls of our fellow men; for by self- denial and self-sacrifice we are brought into a closer relation to Christ, who for our sakes became poor. The more we invest in the cause of God to aid in the salvation of souls, the closer to our hearts will they be brought…

Were our numbers half as large, and all of these devoted workers, we should have a power that would make the world tremble! 3 Testimonies p.405

“In a great trial of affliction the abundance of their joy and their deep poverty abounded in the riches of their liberality. For I bear witness according to their ability, yet, and beyond their ability, they were freely willing.” II Corinthians 8:2-3 “In a great trial of affliction the abundance of their joy and their deep poverty abounded in the riches of their liberality. For I bear witness according to their ability, yet, and beyond their ability, they were freely willing.” II Corinthians 8:2-3

“We are not doing a twentieth part of what we might do if we were awake. The work is retarded by love of ease and a lack of the self- denying spirit of which our Savior has given us an example in His life.” 3 Testimonies p.405

“So let each one give as he purposes in his heart.” II Corinthians 9:7 #2 Cheerful Givers Are Intentional!

“...not grudgingly or of necessity.” II Corinthians 9:7 #3 Cheerful Givers Have Passion!

What impact is your church making in the community? What impact is your church making in the world?

Steps for successful fundraising OR debt reduction

ESSENTIAL GROUNDWORK… 1. Harvest Mind-set “God’s blessings are proportional to our fulfilling HIS purpose for the church.” “The Son of Man has come to seek and to save that which was lost.” Luke 19:10 ESSENTIAL GROUNDWORK… 1. ESSENTIAL GROUNDWORK… 2. Corporate faithfulness in tithing. God’s personal blessing on individuals enables added giving to His work! “Bring all the tithes into the storehouse, and try Me now in this,” says the Lord of hosts, “If I will not open for you the window of heaven and pour out for you such a blessing that there will not be room enough to receive it.” Malachi 3:10 ESSENTIAL GROUNDWORK… 2. ESSENTIAL GROUNDWORK… 3. Tap into Passion! People give to vision. They give significantly (with personal sacrifice) to life transforming vision. Help givers picture the future benefits of the completed project. ESSENTIAL GROUNDWORK… 3. Tap into Passion! People give to vision. ESSENTIAL GROUNDWORK… 4. Secure Local Budget Giving. If this step is not taken, most members will simply redirect their giving to the new project and the budget will suffer. Systematic giving to the budget so the church is free to focus on the project is needed. ESSENTIAL GROUNDWORK… 4. Secure Local Budget Giving. 1.Set a goal. - How much will be raised? - What is the time frame to raise the desired funds? - Give a specific name to the project. Use this name in all promos.

2. Engage donors. - A broad base of participation and ownership is better than counting on that elusive BIG fish! - Create commitment opportunities that everyone can incorporate in their personal budget. Low entry level. - Solicit larger donors on an individual basis.

3. Break the project into smaller milestones! -The first Sabbath each month the pledges are emphasized and called for. -Update giving on a weekly basis using various forms of media. -Celebrate accomplishments while continuing to cast the vision.

4. Celebrate reaching the goal! -Give credit away!
