Ability to turn off default thresholds As IT Operations I want to decide whether predefined thresholds should be enabled or disabled to have full control over events opened in my monitoring system. This will allow to disable or enable all predefined thresholds at once in contrast to per threshold granularity decisions made via Threshold Editor and Resource Group Editor. 3 Epic 86022

Persona – Kevin, IT Operations Demographics: Name: Kevin ParkerTitle: IT Specialist Age: 36Gender: M Education: IT Associates Degree/BSComputer Skills: Advanced, IT certifications Applications used: Systems Management tools, Command Lines, Operating systems Experience: 2-5 years Background: This is his 2nd job out of school, having worked at the company for 4 years. Well networked, and knows how to get things done, but uses desk side support when something goes wrong with his laptop Situation Responsible for the availability of key systems, responsible when they go down, responsible for documenting root cause Interacts daily with application teams and subject matter experts Experience Goals Know enough and have the right tools to be successful Not to be burdened with faulty tools Provide availability and performance of systems and application middleware, directing issues to the proper place End Goals Know about a problem before someone contacts him and have the problem solved before it becomes an issue Prove value of organization to avoid being marginalized Responsibilities Performance, uptime, and quality of service for complex business critical IT systems and networks Design and support computing infrastructure and software Role in the Buying Decision: Influencer, Requirements 4

Scenario - Hill 5 Kevin, in IT Ops reviewed predefined thresholds and decided that he does not want them enabled and generating events for his monitoring system. When he opens Advanced Configuration menu he can find the switch that allows him to easily enable all or disable all predefined thresholds. As a result of his action all predefined thresholds are disabled and will no longer generate events for already registered agents as well as agents that will register in the future. At any time Kevin can reverse his decision and easily re-enable all predefined thresholds (with the use of the switch) or manually adjust enablement for particular thresholds via Threshold Editor/Resource Group Editor.

Ability to turn off default thresholds Previous (8.1.2 and earlier) design: All predefined thresholds are automatically assigned to system resource groups, and as a result each new agent automatically receives all predefined thresholds of a matching type There is no way to enable all or disable all predefined thresholds other than manually assigning or unassigning thresholds (one by one) from system resource groups via Threshold Editor / Resource Group Editor 6 Epic 86022

Ability to turn off default thresholds New (8.1.2 vNext) design: All predefined thresholds are still initially assigned to system resource groups, and as a result each new agent automatically receives all predefined thresholds of a matching type -> no change in behavior for customers not interested in disabling predefined thresholds There is new way of enabling all or disabling all predefined thresholds available in Advanced Configuration menu 7 Epic 86022
