 Economic Stimulus Bill  1.Create new jobs/save existing ones  2.Prompt economic activity and invest in long-term growth  3.Promote high levels of accountability in government spending The implementation of the Economic Stimulus Bill, by Barack Obama, is one of the events that show the quality of his leadership.

 Nobel Peace Prize  Awarded on October 9, 2009  Awarded the Nobel Peace Prize, after only eight months in his presidential term  Awarded “for his extraordinary efforts to strengthen international diplomacy and cooperation between peoples”  This event reiterates the magnitude of Barack Obama’s leadership.

 Obama Care, was passed into Law on March 23, 2010  Goal is to provide affordable healthcare to Americans.  Benefits/Protections of Obama Care:  Insurance companies cannot drop a client if:  Sick  A mistake was made on application  Discriminate against gender  Make unjustified rate increases  No life-time and annual limits on insurance  Faster appeal of insurance company decisions  Expands insurance coverage  Subsidizes insurance costs  People with pre-existing conditions are provided insurance

 Signed into Law on December 29, 2010  Purpose was to keep taxes low for an additional two years and provide unemployment benefits to long-term unemployed Americans for an additional 13 months.  Obama had little support from both the Republicans and the Democrats  Even though the President lacked the support of the two parties, he did not let it stop him from doing what he felt was right.  “This is real money that’s going to make a real difference in people’s lives,” Mr. Obama said. “As soon as I sign this legislation, two million Americans who lost their jobs through no fault of their own will know with certainty that they won’t lose their unemployment insurance.” (Cooper, 2010)

 The Economic Stimulus Bill, the Noble Peace Award, the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act, and the Compromise Tax Plan are all events that have one thing in common.  All of these events in Barack Obama’s life and career show the type of leader that he is.  The 44 th President of the United States of America believes in helping the people he governs.

 Obama came from a hard up bringing.  His mother woke him up at 4 am every morning to home school him  This kind of hard work and dedication from his mother shaped Obama into the type of man he is today.  Despite the fact his father left at such a young age, he remained a major influence in his life.  After fleeing back to Kenya, Barack Obama Sr led on to have a lonely life without his family.  Obama made a trip to Kenya to see his father in the 1980s only to find out he had passed away  Obama to this day states he will never make the same mistakes as his father had.

 He has brought a change to the United States  He has brought optimism.  He has brought a sense of positivity that was much needed.  He has made some changes that have raised question to some  But he has remained true to his word and solidified confidence in the nation.  He has shown that no matter who you are, what background you have, there are no limits on what you can achieve.

 Before attempting to make a promise to the public, the President should do his homework more thoroughly.  Introduced the Obamacare (Affordable Care Act) in  Purpose is to increase the quality and affordability of health insurance; lower the uninsured rate by expanding coverage and reduce the costs of healthcare for individuals and the government  Mandates, subsidies, and insurance exchanges; the law requires insurance companies to cover all applicants within new minimum standards and offer the same rates regardless of pre- existing conditions or sex  So far, Obamacare is not a complete success  Consumers have received cancelation notices from insurers due to regulations in the health care law  Many of the canceled policies do not offer the minimum coverage standards highlighted in the new law  Buyers are unable to sign up for insurance in Obamacare’s marketplace due to reset glitches and flaws.  President Obama is losing the trust of the public as the polls dropped down from 57% to 39%  The President should admit that he made a mistake and to prove to the American citizens that he will fix it; to show that he does care about the uninsured people.

 Barack Obama’s experience as a leader from 1996 to prsent has instilled confidence in the public to elect him once and follow him into a second term.  Even after some rough patches with certain issues such as Obamacare and the response to Syria, he has proven that he is able to continue to persevere through what is possibly the most difficult job to do, win over the people, and keep them on his side.  Barack’s upbringing, and family life has no doubt been an important factor in how he has conducted himself as a politician and a person.  Through the groups research, it appears that the overall impression of Barack Obama as President is positive.  His leadership style as a transformational leader represents changing society for changing times and adapting to new challenges.
