Useful Herbs and Spices You Should Use More in the Kitchen

Many, if not all of us, would always have herbs and spices reserved in the kitchen. And this is no longer surprising anymore. They are a delight to add to recipes, but it’s not just that, herbs and spices also have amazing healing abilities.

Gems Lying Around in your Kitchen  With the right preparation, you can benefit a lot from these gems lying around in your kitchen.  Be careful though because letting them sit in the storage for too long, unused, may mean you no longer get to enjoy their medicinal or health value as much.  Use them while they’re still fresh. Meanwhile, let’s talk about three of the most popular herbs and spices and what they have in store for you.

Ginger  This spice is a household favorite! And it’s helpful in many ways too.  Ground ginger is usually added to baked food while fresh ginger can be grated and added to your tea or juice.  Believe it or not, fresh ginger can help stimulate your appetite.  If you feel you no longer feel hungry, consider eating little fresh ginger just before your meal. There’s no harm in trying!

Garlic  Garlic can be found almost anywhere in the world and is commonly used in the kitchen for its aroma and taste.  Even during the ancient years, it was already recognized for its health benefits. Until today, it is regarded across cultures for its medicinal value.  There’s the fresh garlic, diced or minced, and on the other hand, there’s the powdered garlic which cooks also love to use for their recipes.

Help Treat Cold or Flu  When in need of a subtle flavor though, you might want to go for the powdered garlic because fresh garlic can come out too strong.  Garlic is rich in nutrients; it’s only fitting to have it in the kitchen.
