Modernization of Stations  Develop 50 Stations to World Class with Well-designed Passenger Concourses and Waiting Spaces  In Addition, 200 Large Stations to be Upgraded to Provide Facilities such as:  Offices, Retail, Entertainment, Theatres, Restaurants, Hotels  Health and Education Services etc.

Modernization of Signalling  Panel/Route Relay Interlocking for 700 Stations  Interlocking of More than 1,500 Level Crossings  Complete Track Circuiting of 6,200 Stations, Installation of axle-counters at 3000 Stations and Provision of Isolation at 625 Stations  Provisioning of Train Protection and Warning system for 3,000 km

High Speed Rail  Seven Corridors have been identified  Feasibility Study for 5 Corridors completed. Target is to implement them.  DDC for the Mumbai-Ahmedabad route is already in offing  National High Speed Railway Authority Under Formation  Raise the Speed of Regular Passenger Trains to km/h on Selected Routes
