BANGALORE TRANSMISSION PLANNING

PRESENT SCENERIO Peak Load recorded for the state was 9503 MW at 19hrs on 7th April 2014. The load met in Bangalore city during peak load of the state was 2314 MW with existing transformation capacity 400kV- 4500 MVA. 220kV- 5035 MVA. 66kV - 5119 MVA.

PLANNING CRITERIA Criteria for single contingency (N-1): Outage of single circuit but without load shedding/ rescheduling of generation Criteria for second contingency (N-1-1): Outage of double circuit but without load shedding/ rescheduling of generation Criteria for single contingency (N-1): (TRANSFORMERS): Outage of any single unit would not overload the remaining ICTs or the underlying system.

PLANNING PROCESS Bangalore city is modeled for peak load recorded for the state (9500MW). Load flow studies for existing transmission network of Bangalore area considering, immediate strengthening required in the system For different contingency and operating conditions (in certain critical conditions) Future planning to meet the load growth, in order to overcome congestion and ensure reliable power supply to consumers

Yeramarus Evacuation Scheme (Proposed) Phase-1 To Establish 400/220 kV substation at Gulbarga. To Establish 400 kV pooling station near ‘BTPS’. To Establish 400 KV switching station at Chikkanayakanahalli (C.N Halli) near “Loop in Loop Out” (LILO) point of the existing 400/220 KV sub-station at Hassan. 400 kV DC Line with Quad Moose Conductor to link ‘YTPS’ with the proposed 400 kV pooling station near ‘BTPS’. ( 150 kms) 400 kV DC Line with Quad Moose Conductor to link the proposed 400 KV pooling station near ‘BTPS’ with the upcoming 765/400 KV station (New Madhugiri) near Tumkur. (200 kms) 400 kV DC Line with Quad Moose Conductor to link the proposed 400 KV pooling station near ‘BTPS’ with the proposed 400 kV pooling station near C.N.Hally (200 kms)

Yeramarus Evacuation Scheme (Proposed) 400 kV DC Line with Quad Moose Conductor to link ‘YTPS’ and 400/220 kV substation at Gulbarga. (160 kms) To LILO of both the circuits of Nelamangala – Talaguppa 400kV lines to the proposed pooling station near CN Halli. To link 400 KV Hassan station and CN Halli station by DC line by re arranging existing Hassan- Nelamangala line. To de-link 400 kV SC Line running between RTPS-BTPS-JSW-Guttur with ‘BTPS’ and JSW Bus so as to retain direct connectivity between RTPS & Guttur. To link both ‘BTPS’ and ‘JSW’ with Quad Moose conductor directly to the proposed 400 KV pooling station near BTPS.

Yeramarus Evacuation Scheme (Proposed) Phase-2 400 kV DC Line with Quad Moose Conductor to link ‘ETPS’ with ‘YTPS’. (30 kms) 400 kV DC Line with Quad Moose Conductor to link ‘ETPS’ with the proposed 400 kV pooling station near ‘BTPS’.
