PHOTO OR PICTURE DECONSTRUCTION
Divide the picture or photo into four quadrants. For each quadrant, participants describe EXACTLY what they see—people, places, objects – without interpretation. Participants next INFER and INTERPRET what they have seen with evidence from the picture to support their inferences. For example, they may infer that a photo was from the Civil War era by the dress of the people. Participants explain what they do not know about the photo or picture and how they might find the information. PROCEDURE
