Raincatch Coat Collects drinking water BY: Grace 8.1

Who design it? Created by: 2 designers from the Copenhagen Institute of Interaction Design.

Whats the problem? Water is one of the most important thing that human must consume. But sometimes we ran out of water in a middle of a time when we can’t buy water because of our economical things and also if our country is on trouble of having a clean water. How it is solve? It is solve by, at the end the societies can have a potable water even though they have some problems like (drought or economically)

The invention The Raincatch raincoat could protect the wearer from the rain. Purifies the water from the rain with charcoal and chemical filters. So the water filters and storage containers are hidden in the coat while the tubes are left visible and at the end it can collect a potable water. The collar of the Raincatch collects the rainwater, which is then passed through the filters at the back of the coat and stored in the hip.

The positive impact We can always be prepared for rainy days, because it protects the wearer from the rain and it can also collect then produce a potable water for the wearer to drink whenever they need it. We wont be able to see the charcoal from the suit because it says that the process is not really good to be seen. “Hiding the water storage to maintain a clean form factor” the designers says.water storage

Negative Impact The negative impact are that the fact is rain water is not really the safest water to drink these days. But with this raincoat more or less it helps to purifies it to be a potable water.

Environmental Factors For environmental factors, is that the problem is if there is no rain in a certain country. If they have a problem like drought. Also, sometimes in a place where people live they don’t have clean water to drink even when they really need it.

Economical Factors For the economical factors, for some people they sometimes can’t really afford clean waters. They also could use the money for something else that are also important.

Societies It helps the societies by: Sometimes its hard for us to predict when will the rain come and if for example we need water in that moment. But if we have this raincoat, we’ll be able to be ready at all time. But sometimes its hard for some people to bring the raincoat all over the place since we have to bring it carefully (because theres the machine inside). Also, nowadays in some places water scarcity becomes a big problem.
