What is College Credit Plus?

College Credit Plus Replaces PSEO Replaces dual enrollment

Grades 7 – 12 College-ready students Many college course options Public colleges are free Private colleges may include small cost Opportunity to Earn College Credit

College-readiness determined by college. No minimum GPA required.

Apply and Get Admitted Participate by getting admitted into a college. May have to take a placement test and other criteria.

Student Choice Students can choose any course that applies toward a degree or workforce certification at a public (or participating private) college.

Graduate with College Credit Earn up to 30 college credit hours per academic year; Including Summer Term. No more than 120 college credit hours while in the program.

Summer Requirements CCP will include summer term courses beginning in 2016 Rules governing summer enrollment are expected to be in effect mid-February 2016

Summer Requirements Summer term will apply as the 1 st term of the next school year. A college’s summer term may begin in May. There may be multiple sessions within a summer term.

Summer Requirements If you want to participate in summer term, you must submit your letter of intent to participate early enough to apply and gain admission to the college and register for course(s) in the spring.

Nonpublic & Home School Students 1.Submit your letter of intent to participate 2.Gain admission to the college 3.Apply for and be awarded state funding. State funding will be awarded in May. If you choose to register for courses before funding awards are made, you will have to self-pay or drop the course(s) if you are awarded funds.

Find the Colleges and Courses that Fit Students have options Counselors will share sample pathways with you. Pathways are courses to help you choose, not obligate you.

A semester college course of 3 or more credits counts as a one-year high school class.

Under what scenarios can a qualified student use College Credit Plus?

You want to take college courses to satisfy your high school graduation requirements. You completed your high school graduation required classes and you want to begin college work. You want to explore college and take a course in a subject that interests you.

Books and Fees Students attending a public college do not pay for either books or fees. Students attending a private college may have a cost that includes books and fees.

The grade you earn in the college course is applied to your high school graduation required class. Grades are Applied to Graduation Requirements
