 The aborigines used dot painting as a way to tell stories and record rituals  They passed on stories orally and through music and pictures ◦ The pictures acted as guides to help them tell the stories  Didgeridoo players would play music as they told the stories  Often, the stories in the art were secrets that only the storyteller could see, so they would paint dots all over the picture hide it, or camouflage it
