Introduction. Irlam Vale Football Club Board members, Parents and Coaches show a fine example of Commitment, dedication and passion towards developing children within a football environment. This document is based upon recent observation and has an aim to enhance what is already a Successful grass roots football programme where children are in an environment to love the Game. As your club mentor I aim to help not hinder and will look to answer any queries regarding your Club, Players and Coaching Staff. Regards Ian Worthington

Irlam Vale FC through England DNA Ask yourselves… Who we are? How we play? – In possession – Out of possession – Transition How we coach? – Training strategy – Playing strategy The Future player? How we support?

Coaching and Learning Strategy There are five areas that should be taken into consideration when designing all learning across the organisation.

Our coaching and learning methods are aligned to the Constructivist theory of learning, whereby learning is an active, constructive process which is learner centred and collaborative in nature. Coaching and Learning Strategy

Six Week Coaching Block To encourage standardisation within all age groups at Irlam Vale Football Club an idea of Evening themes has been suggested by some of your coaches. This ensures that all players are being given equal time to focus on all technical aspects of the Game and is not reactive to what did or did not happen in the previous match at the weekend. A six week block seems appropriate as this is line with education and half terms. All coaches can of course use their own ideas to meet the required outcome for that particular Topic. Week One: Dribbling / Running with the ball Week Two: Control and direction of first touch Week Three: Passing long and short Week Four: Heading / Control in the air Week Five: Scoring and assisting in and around the box. Week Six: Players Choice, Fun and reflection.

Reflection By three methods may we learn wisdom. First by reflection which is noblest. Second by imitation which is easiest, and third by experience which is bitterest. Confucius
