The Challenges & Questions Loneliness: 1,000,000 people over 75 years of age who live alone say TV is their main form of company Mental Illness: Up to 5,000,000 over the age of 50 will experience an episode of mental ill health. Up to 60% of care home residents experience low mood or depression. Dementia: Up to 850,000 people living with dementia across the UK. Drive for Dementia Friendly Communities but where is the prevention agenda? How do we use sport to ensure older people age well when sporting legacies & media messages are to: “Inspire A generation” How do we ensure the over 50’s “Get Inspired” How can we build on community assets, unite communities and generations? © Sporting Memories Network CIC

Heart of Our Work Weekly groups & activities across the UK including area projects in: Libraries & Community Settings in East Lothian, West Lothian, Midlothian, Edinburgh, Glasgow, NE Lincolnshire, Leeds, York, Wigan, Sheffield, South Gloucestershire, Bristol, London, Tyne & Wear as well as, individual groups in NHS Wards, care homes and at sports clubs including the MCC.
