INTUMAX ® EP1115X-HPis a unique two component epoxy fire retardant – intumescent coating based on our proprietary non-halogenated phosphate technology. All of our phosphates are manufactured in-house for our exclusive use. The viscosity is easily reduced by the addition of solvents.

When exposed to heat and/or fire, INTUMAX ® EP1115HPX-HP forms a robust char insulative layer that protects a variety of substrates from the effects of heat and flame. The active ingredients in INTUMAX ® products are not water-soluble and will not leach out over time. INTUMAX ® EP1115X-HP is recommended for use as steel protective coatings.

INTUMAX ® EP1115X-HP has the following characteristics INTUMAX ® EP1115X-HP has the following characteristics: Cross linking provides approximately 2 hours of work life and will achieve a tack free surface in 24 hours. Full cure achieved after 72 hours. Highly Impact resistant. Water and Chemical resistant. Interior and Exterior Use. Strong adhesion; pull values in excess of 2,300 psi. Ease of application; high build in excess of 2 in. on vertical surface with one pass. Single stage pump. Factory application. Cost effective.

Very low smoke Non Toxic per BSS7329 protocol Does not need primer or topcoat. No mesh reinforcement needed. 2 hours rating with 0.5” thick coat on 0.25” untreated, unprimed steel. One pass thick build with no drip or sag on vertical surface. Environmentally safe. 100% maintenance free. Can be sprayed with a modified 28:1 president single leg paint sprayer.

About Us: Broadview Technologies is a U.S. based chemical supply company established in 1970 in Newark, N.J. Broadview is a leader in material science, providing innovative solutions to performance problems combined with superior customer service catered to our customers’ individual needs. We are committed to quality, safety, and environmental care.

During the 1960’s Broadview Technologies’ affiliate ACI (Anhydrides and Chemicals, Inc) pioneered intumescent fireproof technology with the introduction of Para-nitroanaline ortho-sulfonic acid ammonium salt, code-named NASA Salt. This was a key component in heat/fire protection during the early days of space exploration.

The next generation of heat/fire protection systems for ACI was the Apollo Heat Shield. This was a thick ablative coating-potting compound that was used to fill a honeycomb layer on the reentry capsule. This heat shield was built by Avco Specialty Materials, a division of Textron Corp. ACI was a key supplier to this program. Through the Apollo program, the technology shifted to phosphates with ACI once again taking the lead in innovation.

With the end of the Apollo program in 1970, Textron began to explore the use of this technology for military ordinance protection and offshore oilrig protection. ACI forged a strategic cooperative alliance with Textron to develop and market its flame retardant / intumescent products. With the post-Vietnam era downsizing of the military, and the subsequent suspension of live ammunition bomb practice by the Navy, this business began to recede. In 1995, ACI severed its exclusive strategic cooperation agreement with Textron, and refocused its efforts to develop new generations of innovative performance products.

In the year 2000, the fruits of these efforts were realized, and Broadview Technologies was launched. Broadview’s sole focus is on innovative solutions to enhance material performance through chemistry. Broadview’s well of patented and patent pending technology improves materials in the fields of epoxy curing agents, fire retardants, plasticizers, and anti- corrosion agents.

MODIFIED ASTM E119 FIRE SCREENING TEST FOR BROADVIEW TECHNOLOGIES INC. ON 1/2” THICK INTUMAX EP1115X-HP ON 14” SQUARE PANEL VTEC # TESTED: OCTOBER 23, 2007 At 139 minutes the thermocouples on the unexposed side exceeded an average of 1,000°F, thus reaching an endpoint. At 139 minutes the test was ended and the furnace shut off.

Post 9/11 evaluations of fireproofing materials lead to the conclusion that adhesion, weathering, impact resistance, in addition to installed cost and hourly ratings, are requirements that must be considered in selection of fireproofing materials.
