 My section is about a very serious mental disorder. A disorder characterized by unpredictable disturbances in thinking, mood, awareness, and behavior.

 The main idea is a serious disorder called schizophrenia.

 Schizophrenia means “split mind”. People with this disorder have minds that are “split off” from reality. This mental disorder is rarely harmful to others. Sometimes it can appear to be normal. Signs are that these people may talk to themselves, exhibit inappropriate emotional responses, dress and act kind of strangely, and withdraw from others.

 The definition is a disorder characterized by unpredictable disturbances in thinking, mood, awareness, and behavior. Some develop irrational fears, such as that someone or something controls their thoughts or wants to harm them.

 There was a lady she would so often talk to herself. Her children would think it was normal. After awhile it got serious, so her family decided to take her to a therapist. She refused to go because she thought they were going to leave her there. A couple months after her help, she had gone back to her old little self.

 This topic is very interesting knowing that people do talk to themselves, but the fact that it’s a disease.  I want the class to know that it can appear to be normal but once it does get serious its called schizophrenia.

 There are lots of serious mental disorders; schizophrenia is one of them. Schizophrenia is a mental disorder that makes it difficult to tell the difference between real and unreal experiences, to think logically, to have normal emotional responses, and to behave normally in social situations.
