Tire Blowout Incident  1. April 2009, a NM Wing pilot in a C-206G with 2 passengers made a normal approach to RWY 3, E80 Belen Alexander Airport  2. During the landing rollout, the right main tire was damaged by excessive braking, brake locking, causing complete rupture of the tire or “blowout”  No injuries MAY 09 SAFETY BRIEFING JOSEPH R. Tire Damage Prevention? A: PRIOR PLANNING while still in the pattern B: Landing “on-speed” and “on target” means brakes won’t even be needed much!! When to file a FORM 78 Online?  Anytime ANYTHING gets broken and will need repair  Anytime SOMEONE gets hurt and needs medical attention Failure to File a Form  Might make you liable for the cost of damage you didn’t do AND  Is a direct violation of CAPR 62-2, Mishap Reporting Procedures MAY 09 SAFETY BRIEFING JOSEPH R.
