© ECS / Disclosure or duplication without consent is prohibited Bearing dimensioning for Mass balancing system General specifications Author: Klaus Schnölzer Date: General specifications: Target is the dimensioning of bearings for a Mass balancing system shaft with one ball bearing and two needle bearings. Dimensioning is for Diesel and Gasoline application. The respective bearing loads and installation spaces are displayed separately. Max. Bearing loads and inclinations can be calculated linear for all number of revolutions. General specifications (for Diesel and Gasoline):  Needle bearing can be designed with or without inner ring  Housing material: Aluminium  Axial locking of needle bearings: press fitted in housing  Axial force on Axial bearing (Ball bearing): 1251[N]  Axial locking of Axial bearing: shoulder in housing on one side, and circlip at other side  Oil specification: SAE 5W30  Temp. range: -30 to 140°C  Max. non continuos oil temp.: 150°C  Temperature for bearing calculation 120°C  Lh 10 bearing lifetime calculation  enlarged Lh 10 calculation with considering inclination, oil contamination, viscosity effect,…  Oil supply for needle bearings: diving partly into oil sump
