Warm UP (7 minutes) 1.Find your name on the tables and sit down – On a index card write 2 truths and one lie about yourself. Be creative and be prepared to share. 2.Norms for classroom activity and correlation to 5PS-post

8 th grade Rules- 5 Ps 5 Ps Prompt – Be on time, first 10 minutes of class devoted to warm up or class- no one will be excused from class first 10 mins Prepared- bring your writing utensil, electronic devise and any homework Productive- While you’re in class devote class time to the daily learning goal and objectives and that will limit the homework you may have that evening. Polite- Use respectful in your voice, manner and behavior whether it is a teacher, fellow student, parent or visitor. Promote Learning- not just for yourself but for everyone in the classroom.

US History Wed Aug 26, 2015 Warm UP – Classroom preparation continued (8 minutes) 1. That’s Me! Then Class Check for Moodle and journal set up. Go over classroom privileges and PAT time 2, On the next free page write date and Activity at the top of the page. On the first half draw a bubble map or Venn diagram. 3. On that top page – compare yourself to a computer 4. Discuss computer analogy with drawing and closing Objective: Classroom processes and procedures. Learning target: I can find similarities and difference between myself and a computer. Privileges Tablet/ phones. I pad etc– These are learning tools. Your phone should not be out unless you are given permission. If you repeatedly violate this privilege your phone will be put in phone jail during class time. Grading idiosyncrasies- a.2 indicates that the assignment was late. A.3 indicates that you retook a quiz or test. Passes- We will be following workshop model so No one leaves first 10 mins of class PAT – time earned by class to engage in educational games. Time can be earned by whole class being prepared, following directions, having work completed and staying on task. ( check the class norms for additional ones)
