Pride may display itself in boastful words and actions In self-righteous assurance that compares and condemns 4

Some conclude that if obedience is essential to salvation, then one is boasting in his ability to save himself They conclude that faithful obedience is earning salvation “striving to be their own savior” (Scott Huckaby) Scott HuckabyScott Huckaby 5

To take pride in something; to boast of that which constitutes a source of pride To glory in, to honor something or someone “Boasting” is not inherently wrong, 2 Cor. 7:4; 8:24; 2 Thess. 1:4 “Boasting” can be evil, James 4:16 6
