Basic Concept of Pulse Train Outputs Typically PTO Motion is for precise positioning applications that require more flexibility than provided by Index Positioning Also used for precise velocity control especially if position registration is required (Not used for torque control) A pulse rotates the motor by a fractional amount (for example, 1/2000 revolution) Pulse 1 Pulse 2 Pulse 3 Pulse 4 Pulse Train Output (PTO) - 24V Direction Pulse PTO is low cost and good performance. Can be interfaced using low cost shielded wiring to any component servo drive

PTO Type of Motion Control Motion planner in controller sends commands to Kinetix® 3 servo drive Kinetix 3 servo drive sends power to the motor and receives feedback from the encoder

Hands-on Lab Introduction In this lab, you will use the Connected Components Accelerator Toolkit (CCAT) to help you quickly develop a simple labeling machine that includes a Servo motor and an AC motor

Hands-on Lab Introduction By using the Connected Components Accelerator Toolkit (CCAT) to generate a starting labeling machine project, you will have a significant head start on your labeling machine design and logic development. After only several minutes of configuration, CCAT will generate a bill-of-material, a set of relevant CAD drawings, a set of relevant quick start guides, a starting Micro800® project, a starting PanelView™ 800 application and an overall project document with links to all of the components of the project and additional information available via the Internet. In this lab, you will: Use CCAT to generate a ‘Starting Labeling Machine’ project Use Connected Components Workbench software to: Complete the configuration of the Micro850® Download the Micro850 project and PanelView 800 application Test out the ‘machine’ in Manual mode Complete the programming of the machine logic for Auto mode Run the ‘machine’ in Auto mode
