Air Canada: Wants us at YVR for 6 a.m. due to group size!  Meeting time at YVR: 6 a.m.  Leave home with plenty of time for traffic, parking, finding the exact location  Check-In Counters will open at 6 a.m.  We are NOT the only group there that morning (so we are told)  It will take time for all of us to get through despite the many counters open

Totem Pole, Upper floor, Group Check-In by International Departure  Teachers will be at Totem Pole to take attendance by giving out:  Journal  Name Tags

Be on time! Late arrivals will delay the whole group and may miss the flight!  Students should arrive at airport with plenty of time to spare to:  Get their “Journal”  Name tags  Go through Check-In and Security  Have enough time to buy a snack and drink on other side of Security

Vancouver-Montréal: 5 Hours  We recommend getting snack and drink after going through Security  On board food purchase: Credit card needed  Teachers will not use their credit cards for any purchases on boad  Food is better from airport kiosks  Students need to bring their own earbuds for on flight entertainment

Participants must wear sweatshirts to the airport!  Sweatshirts MUST be worn by all participants on departure date  Tells Air Canada we are a group  Highly visible for check-in and boarding

Activities are plenty, fun and balanced between Culture and Nature  Participants will be divided into two groups: Group A and Group B for activities away from the Auberge  The groups will rotate activities between morning and afternoon  All students will have experienced same activities by end of most days and certainly by the end of the week  The 64 participants will be together for meals at the Auberge cafeteria and in the “Grand Salon” the Auberge’s activity room

Arrival at Montreal airport  Phones (if brought) will be collected by teachers  We will be met by the moniteurs  Participants will be assigned a group (Group A or Group B)  The groups will NOT necessarily match their roommate assignment  Will be driven to Laval Hilton Hotel  Will be assigned rooms (3 or 4 per room)  Most will need to share a bed for this night  Girls with girls and boys with boys  Pool facility available that evening

Blog: Will be updated nightly once at auberge  Daily blog will be written nightly once students are in rooms for the night  One or two photos only will be added to the blog due to space limit  Most photos taken will be used for a visual presentation once back at Maple Creek  A time and date will be chosen to show this presentation to the participants  If participants want a copy of the presentation, this can be downloaded

Please DO NOT us on day of departure to ask if we have arrived!  Our responsibilities on the night spent in Montreal will be to your child  After a long day of traveling and jet lag all will be tired  IF WE HAVE TIME TO UPDATE THE BLOG, IT WILL BE SHORT  HIGHLY POSSIBLE THAT WE DO NOT HAVE TIME FOR AN UPDATE UNTIL WE GET TO THE AUBERGE ON DAY 2  WE CANNOT POSSIBLY ANSWER ENQUIRIES ON WHETHER WE HAVE ARRIVED IN MONTREAL!

Return flight: Air Canada Check online before driving to YVR  Be on time to pick up your child  Make alternative arrangements if you cannot pick up personally  Participants will be very excited but tired!  Students with parents will have to check out with one of the teachers before they are permitted to leave to go home (hand in name tag)  Participants not picked up will be sent home by taxi at parents' expense
