Latest release – ”Nyt” fra Danmarks Statistik  Serialized release  One ”Nyt” for each statistical product and for each periode / frequency of the product  662 ”Nyt” released in 2014  200+ products  Release on Internet (  Press / News media is the target group / audience  Press releases are seldom prepared 2

Who is responsible?  The Statistician: His release!  A colleague must proof read the content  Content, illustrations and tables must be proof read by colleague – and by dissemination  Head of Division  Supervises all releases by his division – is responsible for the methodology  Head of Dissemination  Overall responsibility for the dissemination  Head of Department / Director  All ”first” releases and selected political & economical sensitive releases  Director General  selected political & economical sensitive releases: National Accounts (Q), Un- employment (M), Employment (Q), Public sector Employment (Q) and Immigrants and their descendants (Y),ad hoc releases and all first releases in new series 7

Serialized and scheduled I  Publishing dates are fixed one year a head on a running basis -  1 month and 10 days before publishing  Statistician asked to confirm publishing date  1 Month before publishing  Precise date (but not confirmed) is published on web  Precise date is used for performance (timeliness and punctuality measurements)  - 11 working days – confirm date appears on internet 8

Serialized and scheduled II  - 1 working day 10 am – Draft to Dissemination  2 day’s before if Directors approval is required  - 1 working day 10 – 12 am “Reader” and Statistician agree on content!  - 1 working day – methodological description / quality report must be updated confirmed  - 1 working day – related tables in statbank.dk must be updated / uploaded for release at 9.00  Day of dissemination – Statistician / contact person must be available for comments from 9.00 and rest of day 9

Dissemination reads the ”Nyt”  To ask the questions that the ordinary interested citizen would ask  Dissemination do NOT read the figures  Angle / Theme / Point / Relevance to target group?  Focus on the ”News / Headline ”  Internal consistency – headline, text, graphs and illustrations  Is it comprehensible / understandable to audience  Short and precise?  Are the used nomenclatures understandable? 10

Feedback  Short introduction work shop for new staff members  Process / workflow  Workshops between Dissemination - division and subject matter division to discuss principle issues  Media / Press monitoring  All mentioning of Statistics Denmark in printed and electronic media is monitored and connected to source –  notification to all interested staff about media citations 11
