CREATING A GIF ANIMATION SLIDE SHOW
1. SHOOT STUDENT WORK Layout class’s work on sheet of paper Example of original. Set camera image size to small.
2. SET UP FILE FOLDERS on desktop ( lower_case_only with underscore) A.01_name.org (original) B.02_name.img (edited/optimized) C.03_name ( misc images, etc)
3. DOWNLOAD IMAGES NOT in iPhoto or any automatic files Use your own files on desktop NOT in iPhoto or any automatic files Use your own files on desktop Vent laptop on two books
4. EDIT / OPTIMIZE IMAGES Original: width: 2896 pixels height: 1944 pixels 300 dpi Edit /Optimized: width: 350 pixels height: 233 pixels 72 dpi
5. EDITING IMAGES ADOBE PHOTOSHOP ELEMENTS ADOBE PHOTOSHOP CS3 GIMP (open source) Picasa ADOBE PHOTOSHOP ELEMENTS ADOBE PHOTOSHOP CS3 GIMP (open source) Picasa
7. PUT ALL IMAGES (to be animated) IN ONE FILE
8. Search: gif animation freeware LINK TO GIF FUN
9. OPEN GIF FUN / SOFTWARE
10. DRAG FILE INTO WINDOW
11.SET RUN TIME FOR EACH IMAGE All set to same duration
12. CLICK “MAKE GIF” 12.1 A sample opens in default browser
13. DOUBLE CLICK GIF ICON
14. DRAG FILES TO: DESKTOP/ TRASH
15. TO PLAY: INSERT IN POWERPOINT UPLOAD TO MOODLE, OR AN HTML WEB PAGE Please note: This gif animation plays perfectly in MOODLE Without the ‘noise’ or static disruptions you see above. xp
