Tendinitis Common forms of tendinitis: 1. Medial epicondylitis ( Golfer’s elbow, baseball elbow)- inflammation of the tendons connected to the medial epicondyle of the humerus - caused by repetitive forceful wrist flexion and rotation
Tendinitis 2. Lateral epicondylitis ( Tennis elbow)- inflammation of the tendons connected to the lateral epicondyle of the humerus - caused by repetitive extension and rotation of the wrist joint
Tendinitis 3. Rotator cuff tendinitis (Tennis shoulder)- inflammation of tendons of the rotator cuff muscles - caused by repetitive movement of the arm over the head
Tendinitis 4. Patellar tendinitis (Jumper’s knee)- inflammation of the patellar tendon - caused by repetitive jumping or running
Tendinitis 5. Achilles tendinitis- inflammation of the Achilles tendon - caused by activities that stress the gastrocnemius muscle
Tendinitis 6. De Quervain’s tenosynovitis- inflammation of tendons on the thumb side of the wrist - caused by repetitive movements of the wrist and hand
