5 Measuring Moles n Remember relative atomic mass? amu n the atoms have mass relative to each other. n Therefore if we increase the “size” of the samples (say to 6.02 x or 1 mole), this relative “relationship” still exists!! n Therefore the atomic mass on the periodic table is also the mass of 1 mole of those atoms in grams.
