** A DARTMOUTH FAQ!!! How do I categorize my letters in the “Letters of Evaluation” section of AMCAS? AIf you are using a composite, you will check COMMITTEE LETTER in this section. Dartmouth uses a composite letter of evaluation in lieu of a Committee Letter; however, they serve the same purpose. Alumni/ae two or more years out of Dartmouth, who are not using a composite letter, should check “Letter Packet” because all letters will be sent at once to every school. Please contact Annette Hamilton for help with creating your letter packet before you attempt to mail it to AMCAS. If you are considering sending an additional letter after your composite packet or letter packet has already been sent to AMCAS, please contact Annette ASAP to discuss. Q2Who is my “Primary Contact/Author”? ASarah Berger, Health Professions' Advisor, will be the primary contact for ALL composite letter packets AND any individual letter packets (used by alums who are more than two years out of Dartmouth) that are sent from Interfolio. If you are using another school’s letter service, please contact them for this information. AMCAS Verification Transcripts Once the application is submitted and all required official transcripts are received, the application will join the verification queue  Use the Official Transcript Request Form  Applicants should consult the AMCAS Instruction Manual and video tutorials to ensure that all coursework is entered accurately, including AP credit and study abroad courses Processing From the date of submission, verification can take up to 6 weeks to be completed Verification consists of:  Line-by-line comparison of each coursework entry to corresponding item on official transcript(s)  Normalization of GPA, including calculation of AMCAS GPAs (Cumulative, BCPM [Biology-Chemistry- Physics-Math], and AO [All Other]) Academic Change Requests

Criminal Background Checks Participating medical schools have Criminal Background Checks on their accepted or waitlisted applicants facilitated by the AAMC Applicants will receive an notification from our vendor, Certiphi Screening, Inc., initiating the background check Applicants will also have 10 calendar days to review their report for irregularities, after that time it will automatically be sent to the medical school(s) There is no additional charge for this service Application StatusCBC to be Procured Accepted, Early Decision Program Upon Acceptance Accepted, RegularAfter January 1 Alternate ListAfter May 15, by school’s request only CBC Schedule

Multiple Accept Data Medical schools cannot view the number or names of other schools that an applicant has applied to Beginning February 10 of the application cycle, schools will be able to see Multiple Accept Data, meaning that for applicants a school has accepted, other schools where that applicant is also currently holding an acceptance will be visible Beginning April 1 of the application cycle, medical schools have access to the National Acceptance Report, which lists all applicants with a current Acceptance or Matriculated action See the Traffic Rules for Admission Officers for more infoTraffic Rules for Admission Officers

2012 Fee Assistance Program Benefits Reduction of MCAT Registration fee from $240 to $85 Free copy of The Official Guide to the MCAT Exam Complimentary access to MSAR Online Waiver of AMCAS application fees for up to 14 medical schools Benefits cannot be applied retroactively, so apply for fee assistance in advance of registering for the MCAT or submitting an AMCAS application How to Apply Visit Complete the online application and follow the directions for submitting supporting financial documentation Benefits are valid only for the calendar year in which the award is granted.
