Bonjour! BA in English/French Education from Grand Valley State University Summer study at “France Langue” Language School in Nice, France 18 months living and teaching abroad in France Lover of reading, writing, theatre, traveling, and learning languages!

Philosophy of Education My goal as a teacher is to create a comfortable and approachable learning environment so that each student can reach their learning potential in their own way. In a relaxed yet organized classroom, each student is capable of understanding and being an active part of their own learning process.

Rochester Curriculum World Language Level 1 Build on language skills from intro class Expand Vocabulary Focus on grammar, syntax, and tenses Listen to and read stories, dialogues and written works Study culture and people Learn to communicate effectively

A Peek into French Class Activity/Movement Games “Kindergarten” Activities Authentic Movies, Music, Books ect Skits/dialogues Exploring culture Culture days

Culture Days Student groups organize one of the following: – French food (bought or prepared) – Information on French country, city or region. – Game, song or custom. – “French in the News” article. – Guest French Speakers!

Homework 2-4 times per week Given so students can practice, study and improve on what we discuss in class Assignments are due at beginning of class unless otherwise noted by the teacher
