Easter is celebrated in Greece with solemnity. Christians go to church and fast throughout the Lent.
During the Holy Week, Christians relive Christ’s Passion, the Crucifixion and Deposition.
On Good Friday the priest places the body of Christ on the Epitaph. The believers decorate the Epitaph with flowers and sing hymns. In the afternoon the procession of the Epitaph takes place.
On Saturday before Easter, the believers go to church wearing their festive clothes and wait to light their candles with the holy light from the priest.
