Presentation transcript:

Developer: Personal Communications Agency ‘Hotpresso’ Natlya Yatsenko and Oleg Rovda Customer: the International Art-Project ‘Angels of Peace’ Ideologist: Yulia Ivanova, a member of the Union of Artists The project originates from Siberia and started there, in Krasnoyarsk in April A unique art-project, uniting people from different countries, charity.

Project dates: Project start: February 2014 The first exhibition and presentation of the project : 12 April 2014 Exhibitions in Krasnoyarsk, Moscow, Minsk: April – November 2014 The first exhibition abroad: Prague, December 2014 Presentation of the paintings in Spain: March 2015 The project is supposed to be implemented in 3 years. After the active phase of collecting works and exhibiting them there will be created a constant museum of the project ‘Angels of Peace’.

The main concept of the project: The organizers of the project decided to unite artists from different countries in order to create an international exhibition consisting of 365 paintings (according to the numbers of days in a year). Each artist paints a work sized 1x1 m within the theme of Guardian Angels and chooses a day in a calendar for it. As a result there appears a unique picture – 365 sq metres of a painting, devoted to Love, Unity, Gratitude, Selflessness, Inspiration and Peace. There is no binding to religious beliefs, painters reveal eternal values. The art-project ‘Angels of Peace’ is expected to last for 3 years. During all this period there will be exhibitions in various cities and countries, and the exposition itself will constantly get more new works. 365 artists as one inspired creator!

Project mission: There are a lot of negative events happening in the world, lots of violence and war conflicts. With the help of this project we hope to bring more good in this world, spiritual comfort, warmth and light, we wish to transform the negative energy accumulated on the planet Earth. Art and painting have the power to do this! By their works artists create the space, unique in its energy and filled with Love, Inspiration and Gratitude. A lot of works – revelations, prayers, hopes… At the exhibition, the spectator sees himself all the variety and polyphony of images, feeling the wisdom and emotions which the authors intended to pass on. We mean Peace in the Soul, Peace in the Family and Peace in the World!

The Origins of the Project: 17 years ago an artist Yulia Ivanova got seriously ill and was between life and death. Even doctors considered her recovery not likely to happen. Then she decided to paint an angel a day, as a gratitude for every day alive, for the opportunity to see her little son. She finally coped with the disease and completely recover. She still keeps on painting Angels for other people and for herself. Project ‘Angels of Peace’ is her idea. The director of the project, an experienced market specialist Natalya Yatsenko, in a hard period of her life also painted several pictures depicting Guardian- Angels for herself and her family. Which made it emotionally easier to keep on moving forward. So, as soon as they met during Yulia’s presentation at TED, they understood each other at once and started thinking over bringing the project to life.

The artists of the project: Artists coming from different cities and countries and working in different styles can take part in ‘Angels of Peace’. The organizers send out private invitations and consider incoming applications. Preview of sketches and works is obligatory. The main criterion is understanding the theme, feeling it, ability to transfer warming and constructive emotions and thoughts onto the canvas. It is very important for painting to be free of any negative emotions, there are enough of them already out there in the world. Pictures should inspire, give hope and show the way… The information support for the project is provided by departments of Artists Unions, private galleries, museums, social organisations, art websites and mass media in different Russian cities.

Exhibition Attributes: The exhibition should be ‘lively’, interactive so that each visitor could get more positive emotions and reminiscences of ‘Angels of Peace’. That is why every exhibition and project presentation includes the ‘trademark’ activities: * Common Picture ‘the Angel of the Exhibition’ (each participant can draw a feather in the angels’ wings and make a wish. The picture then remains at the venue as a present) * «Angel Ribbons of Inspiration » (visitors wrap special ribbons (with wings of an angel) around each other’s wrists, wishing something to each other) * Master-class on making Angels for friends and for oneself (making angels from different materials so that one could take away a tiny part of the atmosphere away and keep it. At a number of exhibitions such master-classes were conducted by handicapped children who perfectly managed with the task.) * Installation for ‘angel’ photos (a chance to make photo near the favourite picture as a remembrance, and even to try angel wings on).

Angels on Earth. Inclusion – new possibilities for handicapped children. Exhibitions also hold in activities devoted to handicapped children. In Russia ‘Angels of Peace’ support the idea of inclusive society, the society where there is no division into healthy and disabled children, where all children could play together, contributing to each other’s progress. A society, open and friendly to anyone is being created. At the opening of the exhibition there is an inclusive shadow- theatre performs a story about the Angel, also another master-class on making angels and balloons with wishes are flown.

The Display of Paintings at the Marbella International Russian Films Festival (Spain) MIRFF – 2015 In March 2015 all the pictures of the project were displayed at the opening ceremony of MIRFF, the representative told about the concept of the project and its origins. Children’s pictures and several paintings of Spanish artists on the theme of ‘the Guardian-Angel’ were also exhibited. On the last day of the event they were sold at a charity auction. The organisers passed the money on to the Fund of Konstantin Khabensky.

Schedule of the exhibitions: April, June, August 2014 – Krasnoyarsk (Private Gallery EinArta, Exhibition Venue in Dom Kino, the Centre of Cultural Initiatives, Krasnoyarsk Museum Centre of Modern Art). More than 50 works were collected. November 2014 – Moscow (Social Chamber of the RF and Dom Kultury VDNH). 58 works collected. Minsk 2014 – Minsk (Belarus), presentation December 2014 – February 2015 – Prague (the Czech Republic). The second exhibition is in April 2015 with the display of new works. March 2015 – Marbella (Spain), at the Marbella International Russian Films Festival. 75 works from Russia, Belarus, Croatia and the Czech Republic. In 2015 exhibitions in Austria, Croatia and more countries are planned.

Visitors comments and reviews: «Thank you so much! Each picture is a picture of a human soul. I now want to live and believe!» «Our family is delighted and in a wonderful mood. Thank you. The Sankovs» «I got really inspired by the exhibition. It amazing to see how an artist represents his Angel, his image, eyes and spiritual strength». «A wonderful exhibition! Thank you. There’s much to think about and over now...» «Impressed by the exhibition, I’ve already imagined my Guradian-Angel, I’ll draw him, certainly! A complete pensioner, Bratchun N.S.»

The Partners of the Project: The project is implemented as a national initiative, which can involve anyone who volunteers. Various media, galleries, social organisations, companies, businessmen and individuals become partners of this project. A part of the funds is involved from the souvenir and picture posters sales. The concept of ‘Angels of Peace’ is that we all have spare resources and will to do something really important in our lives, and if we unite them for the sake of something greater, we might get an exciting project, inspiring others. No one can get such things for money! ) In Belarus we thank Gallery TUT.BY for the help organising the project presentation.
