Bristol in Tudor Times – (Local Study) Tudor Day and class museum – Friday, 21 st November. What have the Romans done for us? (Movers and Shakers) Animal Habitats (Planet Earth)

To enhance the children’s learning: Autumn Term: The Red Lodge – September (Discovered more about Tudor Bristol and had our lunch at BGS in the Great Hall). Look on Website for photos! Summer Term: Bristol Zoo– June/July (Endangered species and their habitats).

One afternoon a week (1 or 2 hours). Allows teachers time to plan and assess children’s work. Children take part in a music/drama lesson with Mrs McGrath or Art with Miss Powell. French Lesson – 30 minutes on Monday with Mrs Papworth.

Clear expectations and classroom rules. Discipline procedures: Verbal Warning Yellow Card Red Card = detention with a member of SLT (20 minutes at the beginning of lunch hour) A letter goes home to explain the poor behaviour and keep you informed of what is happening in school. A record is kept in the Class Behaviour Book.

Pegs Bags 1 drawstring PE bag containing indoor AND outdoor school PE kit and footwear to stay on peg in school. 1 small school bag to include their lunchbox. Coats Please ensure your child has a tag on the back of their coat so that it will stay on their peg. Clothes Please label with child’s name.

Weekly Homework Maths (30 mins) English (30 mins) Spellings (30 mins) In addition to written homework, children must be reinforcing their times tables and reading at least 3 times a week. –Children to make a note of books they are reading in their Reading Journals. -Please sign reading record when you hear your child read. Your support is essential.

Diary Dates: Tudor Day and class museum – Friday, 21 st November. Cake Sale – Friday, 21 st November. Year 4SA Assembly – Tuesday, 20 th January. Year 4C Assembly – Tuesday, 27 th January. Other dates to follow. Check the website for information on trips and dates. We also try to keep the website updated with photos of what we are up to!
