Presentation transcript:

THE KINGDOM OF GOD! God’s Kingdom is Heaven… Also called Paradise, Promised Land. In Heaven people of faith are united with God forever. God’s Kingdom is also here on earth! When we love as Jesus taught us we are making his kingdom in this world real!

The Kingdom of God is also… …in our hearts. When we love each other we bring about God’s reign in this world. GOD’S LAW OF LOVE IS: 1. Love God first. 2. “Love your neighbor as yourself.” 3. Follow the Ten Commandments.

JESUS IS THE KING OF THE REIGN OF GOD.

Who is the greatest in God’s Kingdom? Read Matthew 18:1-5.

“Unless you become like little children…you will not enter the Kingdom of Heaven.” Matt 18:1-5 Sinners should change and become like children. God’s kingdom belongs to the poor and most vulnerable among us; those who are hungry, sick, imprisoned, sinners, afflicted, etc. (Corporal Works of Mercy, p. 236) Those who accept the Kingdom of God, God’s word and lives by God’s ways with an open and receptive heart. Those who put others first.

Write down one or more or more child-like qualities that show you are a “child of God.” See also Mark 10: CHILD-LIKE QUALITIES: A child is: Accepting Humble Obedient Trusting Quick to forgive

Children are happy and experience God’s joy! Joy-filled!

Children are… forgiving.

Children are… Accepting

Children are… Obedient. They trust their parents to guide and protect them much like God will guide and protect us.

CHILDREN ARE… HUMBLE.

NAME SOME CHILD-LIKE QUALITIES IN THE KINGDOM OF GOD THAT YOU LIVE BY. Write them on the colored paper that will be your ticket into the kingdom of God. It will later be placed on the banner of God’s Kingdom.

Write down one or more Christ-like quality that you live by that will get you into the Kingdom of God. See the Corporal and Spiritual works of mercy page 236.

Take your qualities to St. Peter and he will welcome you in God’s Kingdom.
