 The state I am researching on is Maryland. Its nickname is the old line state. I couldn’t find a specific website to find the origin its nickname the old line state.

 Maryland’s biome is a deciduous forest filled with deciduous trees such as oak, birch, maple, beech, and hickory. One food chain is as follows, Sun, American Beech, White-Tailed deer, American Black Bear. One animal that lives in Maryland is the American Bald Eagle. An adaptation it has is its curved beak. It is used to tear fish apart while it is eating. Another animal that lives in Maryland is the American Black Bear. An adaptation it has is its several layer of fur. This adaptation helps it stay warm in the winter. A third animal that lives in Maryland is the Coyote. An adaptation it has is its sense of smell. It has a powerful sense of smell to locate prey.

 Maryland’s state song is “Maryland, My Maryland”.  The state beverage is milk.  The state folk dance is the square dance.  The state sport is jousting.  People who live in Maryland are called Marylanders
