History of Health Care Sharing Ministries (HCSM) Bearing one another’s burdens was central to our national heritage Far too often that has been forgotten except during major catastrophes When medical problems arise, the government and insurance companies are expected to pay for them HCSM provide an opportunity for everyday Americans to return to our heritage and share the belief of bearing the burdens of one another Although caring for others has been around since the beginning of our country, the modern day concept of health sharing was born in the early 1980’s as the happy ending to a tragic story Exclusively for AHS Sales and Marketing use only3

History of Health Care Sharing Ministries (HCSM) An uninsured family had accumulated major medical bills due to a tragic vehicle accident with no way to pay They sought the financial help of others in their church and community And Health Care Sharing Ministries were born HCSM has grown and thrived over the past 30 years as an alternative to sky rocketing insurance costs Today more then 530,000 Americans participate in HCSM and millions more will be coming once they are introduced to the benefits ( Exclusively for AHS Sales and Marketing use only4

Altrua Statement of Standards Because of my biblical convictions, I choose to live a clean and wholesome life, and share the following standards and convictions with members of Altrua HealthShare. I believe in keeping my body clean with proper nutrition and consuming foods in moderation. I believe that the use of tobacco during the past 12 months, illicit drugs, and excessive alcohol consumption is harmful to body and soul. Sexual relations outside the bond of marriage between a man and a woman are morally wrong. I believe that abortion is wrong, except in special circumstances such as rape or serious injury to the mother, and then, only after careful consideration by all concerned. I believe that I am obligated to provide and care for my family and that abuse of any kind, of a family member or anyone else is wrong. Exclusively for AHS Sales and Marketing use only6

Difference Between HCSM and Insurance Members are considered by the medical profession to be self-pay patients Typically, shared costs are lower negotiated costs for services than are charged to health insurance companies HealthShare ministries are recognized by the ACA. Members are exempt from the tax penalty by the IRS for having this alternative to ACA health insurance Members do not participate in subsidizing or paying for certain lifestyle choices others make which continue to add to the rising costs of traditional health insurance Members can use affiliated providers of the PHCS Network for lower costs but can choose their own non-affiliated providers if they choose Exclusively for AHS Sales and Marketing use only7

Difference Between HCSM and Insurance Premiums are called “contributions” and are considered a voluntary payment Customers are known as “members” and are provided top rated member services Deductibles are known as the “Member Responsibility Amounts” (MRA) Members have a lifetime maximum sharing limit of $1,000,000 per member Monthly contributions range from $100 to $780 based on age, family and plan selected Members submit a $100 application fee and a one time $25 donation, which helps support charitable programs within their community Members submit an annual contribution of $100 and a voluntary $25 tax deductible donation to Altrua Ministries Exclusively for AHS Sales and Marketing use only8

Testimonial from a Altrua HealthShare Member I have been a member of Altrua HealthShare since early I can say Altrua HealthShare has truly blessed my family over the years of being there in times of medical needs. In late 2004 my wife had a second round of cancer that created over 160k of medical bills after being clean of cancer for 12 years. In mid 2010 I had major neck surgery which created 80k of medical bills and Altrua HealthShare was there to provide for my family’s financial needs as the membership guidelines calls for. Without Altrua HealthShare in my life, I was not able to afford Private Personal Insurance premium costs as they are today. I also would have been financially crippled without Altrua HealthShare’s assistance. A very special connection to Altrua HealthShare is Altrua Ministries a 501 c-3 charitable organization and Crown Healthcare that assists the members of Altrua HealthShare in dealing with financial hardship and works with Medical Providers in lowering and finding discount plans to lower the out of pocket expense. I am very proud to be considered a member of Altrua HealthShare, it pays to live your life in a manner as the Membership qualifications calls for in the Statement of Standards, and you get blessed for it. Thank You, Mr. Jacobs Exclusively for AHS Sales and Marketing use only11
