Children should arrive at school at the usual time and go to the KS2 Hall with their luggage. (no uniform) At the relevant time the children will leave the KS2 Hall to board the coach which will be parked on Wimperis Way. When leaving the venue on departure day, a text will be sent to confirm the arrival time back at school. Children should be collected from the KS2 Hall at the given time. Departures and Arrivals
Children will not be able to ring home during the visit. Parents/Carers are asked not to contact the venue. A text will be sent to confirm arrival at the venue. A text will be sent each morning and evening during the visit. Please ensure we have your up to date mobile number on our contact list. Receiving News
Children will be expected to behave appropriately at all times and to listen to the staff and instructors. The sanctions for misbehaviour will be loss of free time. At bedtime all children will be expected to settle down when requested. In the morning, early risers must stay in bed and not disturb others until staff wake everyone up (approx 7:00am). Behaviour
Children will be accompanied on the residential visits by the following staff: Year 4 – Mrs Willis, Miss Hykin, Mr Hancox, Miss Matthew, Mrs Eveson, Mrs Trayhern, Mr Godwin. For children who may require medication during the residential visit, parents/carers must: Complete a medical authorisation form for each type of medication required. The form and the medication should be put into a clear plastic bag and given to a member of staff in the KS2 Hall on the day of departure. Medical Authorisation
For children who require travel sickness medication: Parents/Carers should administer the medication to their child before school on the day of departure. A medical authorisation form for the return journey must be completed. The form and 1 dose of travel sickness medication should be put into a clear plastic bag and given to a member of staff in the KS2 Hall on the day of departure. Medical Authorisation
Please complete these forms and return to school by Monday 7 th March if you have not returned them already. The forms need to be completed in advance to enable adequate time for staff to collate the information and liaise with parents where necessary. If any information regarding your child changes between the above date and the date of departure, please contact the school office and the forms will be updated. Well Being/Emergency Information
A specific kit list will be provided for each residential visit. Here are some general rules: No leggings/jeans/skirts. No open toed shoes. Do not take expensive or “best” clothes. No iPads (or any other tablets), iPods, mobile phones, jewellery (including watches/earrings), valuable items. No hairdryers/straighteners. Clothing/Kit List
A preliminary visit of each residential venue has been carried out by 2 members of staff and discussions have taken place between school staff and venue staff regarding each residential visit. Risk assessments have been thoroughly scrutinised and all appropriate paper work will have been completed prior to the visits. Additional Information
Whitemoor Lakes is a purpose built activity centre which opened in Set in the heart of Staffordshire in Alrewas, just off the A38, the centre is on the edge of the National Forest. WHITEMOOR LAKES
Children will be sleeping in 2 lodges that will be for the sole use of our school. Lodges are secure, with school staff holding the keys. Each lodge contains a number of en-suite bedrooms with either 4 or 5 beds in them. WHITEMOOR LAKES Accommodation Staff bedrooms are situated within each lodge. Doors are alarmed and will go off if opened at night, both in staff bedrooms and at the reception.
Whitemoor Lakes is set in secure grounds with access via a reception desk which is manned 24 hours a day. Children are not allowed onto the car park areas. Free time is supervised by both on site and school staff. There will be a fire drill on the day of arrival to ensure all children are aware of procedures. There is secure access into the lodges. Fire exits in lodges are alarmed and alarms go off in both staff bedrooms and at the reception desk. Porters and a security company patrol the grounds throughout the night. WHITEMOOR LAKES Security
WHITEMOOR LAKES Food Typical Menu Breakfast Bacon/sausage sandwiches, cereal, toast, fruit Cooked Lunch Chicken wraps Cooked Evening Meal Chicken and vegetables Bread/fruit/salad/pasta available at all meals The centre have assured us that all the meals served are not only wholesome but also what young people tend to like. * Children will require a packed lunch on the day of arrival. The centre are happy to accommodate the needs of every child so please let us know if your child has any special dietary requirements. Every child should bring a water bottle. These will be able to be refilled as required.
There will be children in a group plus at least 1 member of school staff. All activities will be led by trained instructors who are also first aid trained and have dbs certificates. Over the 2 days the children will take part in the following activities – rafted canoeing, zip wires, abseiling, a challenge course and rock climbing. WHITEMOOR LAKES Daytime Activities
WHITEMOOR LAKES Evening Activities An evening activity will take place after the evening meal. This will be run by the instructors and school staff and will involve the children getting into teams and competing in team games. After the evening activity the children will go back to their lodges and take part in a fun quiz run by school staff before going to bed.
The coach will leave school on Tuesday 3rd May at 10:30am. We will arrive at Whitemoor Lakes at approximately 11:00am. A text confirming arrival at Whitemoor Lakes will be sent within an hour of arrival time. On arrival, children will receive a site tour, a safety talk and a fire drill. Arrival At WHITEMOOR LAKES
The coach will leave Whitemoor Lakes on Wednesday 4 th May at approximately 2:00pm. A text will be sent to confirm the anticipated arrival time back at school. The coach will arrive back at school at approximately 2:30pm. Children should be collected from the KS2 Hall. Departure From WHITEMOOR LAKES
A specific kit list for Whitemoor Lakes has been provided. In addition to their luggage, children should bring a separate rucksack/bag containing a towel and change of clothes and shoes/trainers/crocs for canoeing (these will get wet). There is a small shop selling Whitemoor Lakes souvenirs such as mugs and torches. Children may bring up to £5 to spend (in coins not a £5 note). This should be in a named purse or envelope. Condover Hall is a magnificent Grade 1 Elizabethan Mansion built in The multi-million pound development opened in Set in extensive grounds in rural Shropshire, 5 miles from Shrewsbury. CONDOVER HALL
Children will be sleeping in bunk beds in dormitories. Dormitories are in secure buildings within a fenced area, secluded from the rest of the site. Staff bedrooms are situated near to the children’s rooms. Each dormitory has an en- suite bathroom for the children to use including a shower unit. CONDOVER HALL Accommodation

There will be up to 12 children in a group plus 1 or 2 members of staff and a lead instructor who will stay with the group for the duration of the visit. All activities will be led by trained instructors who are also first aid trained and have dbs certificates. Over the 2 days the children will take part in a range of activities that may include orienteering, buggy building, low ropes, archery, body zorbing and zip wire. CONDOVER HALL Daytime Activities
Evening entertainment will take place from 7:15 pm to 8.45 pm. The children will take part in sunset activities such as Camp Fire, Loud Disco, Mini Olympics, Film Night and Dance Mania. The children will have a school meal as they normally would at school at lunchtime on Friday 1 st July. The coach will leave school on Friday 1 st July at 1:00 pm. We will arrive at Condover Hall at approximately 2:00 pm. A text confirming arrival at Condover Hall will be sent within an hour of arrival time. On arrival, children will receive a site tour, a safety talk and a fire drill. Arrival At CONDOVER HALL
The coach will leave Condover Hall on Sunday 3 rd July at approximately 1:00 pm. A text will be sent to confirm the anticipated arrival time back at school. The coach will arrive back at school at approximately 2:00 pm. Children should be collected from the KS2 Hall. Parents will need to enter school from Wimperis Way entrance. A specific kit list for Condover Hall will be provided. Children are not permitted to take any electrical equipment with them including any hand held devices or hairdryers. The children are permitted to take a disposable camera to take photographs. A gift shop is available with tokens and memorabilia. The children can bring along a maximum of £5 (in coins) to spend.
