Facilitate the approach of learning adults to the use of computer tools 2. Show the educational potential of the use of computer tools both in general terms and in training paths for adults with specific needs in relation to their profession Operational purposes of Digital Knowledge Train adults, involved in the experimentation, in the use of the more common computer tools in the Clan Learning Village in preparation for and during the training courses. Structure of Digital Knowledge Setting It is open and accessible to all members of the Clans involved through the “Town Square” space and is structured on two sequential tasks: 1. Words about the Web 2. Game: describe your job Owing to the transnational nature of the courses all communication will be carried out in English. Words about the Web Through the use of the “Glossary” participants will be requested to give a definition for each of the 5 terms regarding web/ict (e-learning, website, wiki, forum,chat) listed by the system. The system will present/suggest a series of web resources to be used to improve or to examine more closely each definition, such as: Scribd Google search Wikipedia CLAN – Continuous Learning for Adults with Needs LLP IT-GRUNDTVIG-GMP Grant Agreement / Moodle Glossary Activities This Glossary activity allows participants to create and maintain a list of definitions, like a dictionary. The entries can be searched or browsed in many different formats. The glossary also allows teachers to export entries from one glossary to another (the main one) within the same course.

Game: Describe your job The participants will describe and present their jobs to their colleagues through four search steps by using specific web resources: CLAN – Continuous Learning for Adults with Needs LLP IT-GRUNDTVIG-GMP Grant Agreement / The four steps: 1.Search for a slideshow 2.Search for a video clip 3.Upload a picture 4.Search for a picture

Tools … As in the previous task the system will suggest the use of a series of web resources (tools) to carry out the research work: CLAN – Continuous Learning for Adults with Needs LLP IT-GRUNDTVIG-GMP Grant Agreement / The presentation and description of the job by each participant is carried out in the Forum. Digital Knowledge Setting as a game ….. The path teaches how to use web tools and resources through game and competition (User Ranking System). It is not a real challenge but an opportunity to recognise one’s competences and skills thus creating a critical and constructive self-evaluation process of the member’s role vis a vis the new technologies and their educational value. User Ranking System User Ranking System This is the tool used by the system to score in two different ways the works of the animator and the contestant. The system, by examining the logins, gathers and classifies on the basis of established deadlines, the relevant data and draws up a classification. The monitoring is carried out both for collaborative activities (forum, creation of a glossary...) and individual ones. The aim is to give a QUANTITATIVE indication about one’s participation in the Social Network Activities. Animator  the Animator will display the single items that constitute the total score of the contestant and to see the different scores for each single activity. Contestant  the Contestant will see a differently detailed set of scores: this in order to avoid realising that each activity has a different importance.
