COUNTY FUNDED PROJECTS CHEROKEE COUNTY FUNDS ROADWAY PROJECTS THROUGH ITS SPLOST PROGRAM CURRENT SPLOST PROGRAM BEGAN IN AUGUST 2012 AND RUNS THROUGH AUGUST 2018 $4,500,000 DEDICATED TO PROJECTS ALONG EAST CHEROKEE DRIVE $1,250,000 DEDICATED TO EAST CHEROKEE DRIVE AT HOLLY SPRINGS PARKWAY CURRENTLY 6 PROJECTS PLANNED FOR CORRIDOR – FROM HICKORY FLAT AREA, SOUTH TO WOODSTOCK

EAST CHEROKEE DRIVE AT LOWER UNION HILL ROAD UNDER CONSTRUCTION – CONTRACTOR: BARTOW PAVING COMPANY EXPECT TO BE COMPLETE BY AUGUST 1 CONSTRUCTION COST = $750,000 INSTALLATION OF DEDICATED RIGHT AND LEFT TURN LANES INSTALLATION OF NEW TRAFFIC SIGNAL

EAST CHEROKEE DRIVE AT SR 140 PROJECT IS CURRENTLY BEING DESIGNED GDOT HAS COMMITTED $1,000,000 TOWARDS PROJECT CONSTRUCTION EXPECT ENVIRONMENTAL STUDIES TO BE COMPLETED BY THIS JUNE RIGHT-OF-WAY ACQUISITION TO TAKE PLACE SUMMER AND FALL 2016 ESTIMATED COST = $2,900,000 INSTALLATION OF DEDICATED RIGHT AND LEFT TURN LANES ON ALL APPROACHES ACCESS MANAGEMENT FOR ADJACENT PARCELS (FULL ACCESS TO RIGHT-IN/RIGHT-OUT)

EAST CHEROKEE DRIVE AT HOLLY SPRINGS PARKWAY AND MILL CREEK ROAD DESIGN IS BEING FINALIZED RIGHT-OF-WAY ACQUISITION IN PROGRESS – EXPECT TO BE COMPLETED APRIL 30 ARMY CORPS PERMIT IS APPROVED EXPECT TO RECEIVE BIDS FOR CONSTRUCTION IN JUNE; 2 YEAR CONSTRUCTION DURATION ESTIMATED CONSTRUCTION COST = $2,900,000 PROJECT WILL INCLUDE THE FOLLOWING:

EAST CHEROKEE DRIVE AT HOLLY SPRINGS PARKWAY AND MILL CREEK ROAD DUAL LEFT TURN LANES FROM SOUTHBOUND HS PARKWAY TO EASTBOUND EAST CHEROKEE DRIVE ADD RECEIVING LANE ON EASTBOUND EAST CHEROKEE DRIVE STARTING AT HS PARKWAY AND ENDING IN A RIGHT-TURN LANE TO MILL CREEK ROAD ADDITIONAL LENGTH OF RIGHT TURN LANE FROM WESTBOUND EAST CHEROKEE DRIVE TO NORTHBOUND HS PARKWAY SHARED LEFT/THRU LANE AND ADDITIONAL LEFT TURN LANE ON WESTBOUND EAST CHEROKEE TO SOUTHBOUND HS PARKWAY SPLIT PHASED TRAFFIC SIGNAL AT HS PARKWAY AND PUBLIX CENTER ADD RECEIVING LANE ON SOUTHBOUND HS PARKWAY FOR APPROXIMATELY 1400 FEET REQUIRES EXTENSION OF CULVERT/BRIDGE AT INTERSECTION ADD LEFT TURN PHASE EXITING JOHNSTON ELEMENTARY SCHOOL DRIVEWAY AT MILL CREEK ROAD

EAST CHEROKEE DRIVE AT TRIPP ROAD DESIGN PLANS COMPLETED IN 2010 – WILL NEED TO BE UPDATED REQUIRES RIGHT-OF-WAY ACQUISITION REALIGNMENT OF TRIPP ROAD TO INTERSECT EAST CHEROKEE AT 90 DEGREES LEFT TURN LANE FROM SOUTHBOUND EAST CHEROKEE TO TRIPP ROAD RIGHT TURN LANE FROM NORTHBOUND EAST CHEROKEE TO TRIPP ROAD ESTIMATED CONSTRUCTION COST = $950,000

EAST CHEROKEE DRIVE AT S. HOLLY SPRINGS ROAD DESIGN PLANS COMPLETED IN 2011 REQUIRES RIGHT-OF-WAY ACQUISITION LEFT TURN LANES FROM EAST CHEROKEE TO S. HOLLY SPRINGS RD/THORNWOOD DRIVE RIGHT TURN LANES FROM EAST CHEROKEE TO S. HOLLY SPRINGS RD/THORNWOOD DRIVE ESTIMATED CONSTRUCTION COST = $1,250,000

FUTURE PROJECTS COUNTY ADOPTED COMPREHENSIVE TRANSPORTATION PLAN ON MARCH 1, 2016 INCLUDES FUTURE PROJECTS ON EAST CHEROKEE DRIVE IN THIS AREA TIER 1 ( ) - $2,700,000 (ESTIMATED) INTERSECTION IMPROVEMENTS – RANCHWOOD TRAIL, AVERY CREEK DRIVE, BRADSHAW CLUB DRIVE, ETC IMPROVE CULVERT CROSSING AT AVERY CREEK TIER 2 ( ) - $2,750,000 (ESTIMATED) INTERSECTION IMPROVEMENTS – TRIPP ROAD, S. HOLLY SPRINGS ROAD, AND OTHERS PROJECTS CAN BE MOVED BETWEEN TIERS DEPENDING ON NEEDS AND AVAILABLE FUNDS
