DC Public Speaking Syllabus Quiz Please number

Question One:  True or False – You can turn in “collected” homework one class day late for half credit?

Question Two:  Homework that is just checked in class for points will:  A. not be accepted late  B. be accepted late but only for half credit  C. be accepted for full credit immediately after class is over  D. accepted any time up until May 15 th for full credit

Question Three:  Concerning the Final Exam for this course:  A. There will be a written exam  B. Everyone will present a 10 minute speech on Final Exam day  C. There is no Final Exam, but you will give award speeches to classmates that day.  D. You can skip class that day and go have a coffee at Heine Brothers

Question Four  If you are not prepared to give your speech on your assigned day, the following penalty will apply:  A. You will not be allowed to give the speech, and it will be a zero  B. No penalty; give you speech whenever  C. 20% will be deducted from your grade the first day you’re not ready, and 40% will be deducted if you’re not ready on the second day

Question Five  If you are sick on the day you speech is due, you will:  A. Bring a note in from a parent explaining why you couldn’t give your speech.  B. Need to have a doctor’s note  C. Not be allowed to make it up and will take a zero.  D. You will be excused and not have to make it up.

Question Six  Concerning writing in the class...  A. There will be no written assignments.  B. You will turn in a manuscript form of your speech for the informative and persuasive speeches  C. You will write one critique of a speaker you see outside of class.  D. You will turn in a manuscript only for your persuasive speech.

Question Seven:  Which speech is worth the most points?  A. They are all equally weighted.  B. The Informative speech.  C. The Persuasive Speech

Question Eight  How can you earn bonus points?  A. You cannot earn any extra credit.  B. You can offer the instructor gift certificates to Carmichael’s book store  C. You can see a production of the Rose Theatre Company and write a critique to earn 10 bonus homework points.
