What is Edgenuity? Edgenuity (e2020) is an online computer- based, blended learning program that provides a platform for recovering or earning credits. Edgenuity combines technology, curriculum, and instruction to meet individual student’ needs. Students work at their own pace to complete course work.

Core Courses Available in Edgenuity English (I, II, III, IV) Algebra I, Geometry, Algebra II, Financial Math, and Math Essentials Physical Science, Biology, Chemistry, Environmental Science World Geography, Civics, Free Enterprise, American History, World History

Electives Available in Edgenuity Digital Arts I, II Computer Literacy Spanish I, II Psychology Sociology More electives will be available soon

Student Expectations Use the computers provided in the learning labs to complete all coursework Complete all parts of the online lesson Remain attentive and on task; sleeping is not allowed Cell phone use is prohibited in learning labs Random browsing is prohibited- do not visit YouTube and other entertainment websites Take good notes– you will need them during quizzes Attend class daily if you are a face-to-face student

Student Expectations Score at least 70% on quizzes and topic tests Meet daily and weekly targets Use the technology equipment and software appropriately- do not charge your cell phones at school. Food and drinks are not allowed in the learning labs Plagiarism is strictly prohibited (copying from websites and other students, logging in as other students, etc.)

Learning Coaches Content-certified teachers who will facilitate learning in the content-specific computer labs (English lab, Math lab, Science lab, Social Studies lab) Conduct small group and individual instruction Conference with students daily and weekly when necessary Plan for individual assistance Conduct whole-group activities when necessary

Tips for Success Watch the lecture videos! Take good notes- you can use them during quizzes and topic tests. Communicate with your Learning Coach frequently- ask for help when you need it Make sure you are prepared before attempting to take an assessment- if you do not score at least 70% you will have to go back and review the lectures as well as complete supplemental assignments.

Integrity and Ethics CheatingPlagiarism Providing answers to other students in any form or fashion Copying and pasting essays, answers, and passages from the Internet (Answers.com, Ask.com, etc.) Receiving answers from other students in any form or fashion Taking credit for someone else’s material or work (on or off the Internet) Having someone else complete your assignments or take your assessments Copying work like images without giving proper credit Consequence: possible removal from the course Consequence: automatic zero on the assignment and possible removal from the course

Working at Home You may work on vocabulary, lectures, and journals at home. All assessments must be taken at school under the direction of a Learning Coach (Quizzes, Topic Tests, and Cumulative Exams)

Average Time to Complete Assignments Vocabulary: 5 minutes Journal: 5 minutes Quiz: 1 Hour (10 questions) Lecture: 20 minutes Practice/Homework: 15 minutes Topic Test: 2 hours (25 questions) Online Content: 10 minutes Essay: 3-6 hours (there are several activities in an Essay lesson you’ll need to complete) Cumulative Exam: 3 hours (50 questions) Be mindful that it may take more time to complete certain assignments
