HOW TO READ A PATTERN ENVELOPE

Items included Garment description Suggested fabrics Body measurements Nap indication Finished garment measurements Yardage requirements Back view illustration Notions

Garment Description: included at the top of the pattern, or on the front of the pattern

Suggested fabrics: this is what you will look for at the store- be aware of patterns

Body measurements : once you measure each area, this will help you determine what size you are and the amount of fabric

Nap indication: A fabric with nap is one what usually has a pile and will look different shades from different angles- Velour, Velvet

Back view illustration: this shows the variety of garments that can be made and/or the views from different angles.

Finished garment measurement: indicates what the size and length will be when it is complete. Useful in determining if the pattern size is correct.
