Role of this course To help you to turn cultural encounters into intercultural learning experience. Emphasis will be placed on developing your awareness on nature of intercultural interaction and the skills and competences which allow you to relate to cultural difference.
Course objectives Special focus of the course will be placed on cultural characteristics of Poland and its business culture The course focuses on how cultural differences can be used to find better solutions for dilemmas inherent in international business relations.
Method of Assessment The final grade will be determined by a combination of attendance as well as active participation in class activities (30%), group assignment grade (55%), and PowerPoint presentation (15%)!).
Group assignment Compare models ( Hofstede, Hall) of 3 different cultures Specify points of synergy and points of conflicts Summarize them in the SWOT model for potential business collaboration Prepare 10 minutes presentation in PowerPoint format for class on April 7, 2016 Write your group’ paper presenting your analysis and send to my address by May 4, 2016 (app characters, Times New Roman) Every 2 days of delay will result in lowering your final grade by 0,5 point
