INTRODUCTION OF DG OF COPYRIGHT Directorate General of Copyright is one of the main departments of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism First copyright protection in legislative framework begins with the Ottoman Empire Modern Copyright Law was coded in 1951 named Law on Intellectual and Artistic Works no www.telifhaklari.gov.tr

In 2011 Directorate General was reorganized. The administration of Copyright and Cinema was separated in two different Directorate Generals that enables a wide capacity and effective performance. SY SYSTEM HAS FOUR MAIN INSTRUMENTS Turkish Copyright System Banderole Inspection Comissions Registration Certification 4www.telifhaklari.gov.tr

BANDEROLE SYSTEM It is a label with a holographic characteristic, consisting of serial numbers and security band. it is obligatory to use Copyright Automation System (TEHAKSIS) for non- periodicals banderols. By this system, the application forms can be filled in on the internet also. 5www.telifhaklari.gov.tr
