What is Hemet ROCS? Restoring Our Community Strategy Reduce blight, upgrade housing conditions and neighborhoods, improve property maintenance, and enhance the image and quality of life within the City of Hemet and Valley.

Program Components: Formation of staff Technical Advisory Team Executive Advisory Committee (EAC) Government Agency Liaison Group Citizen Advisory Committee  Working group of 17 citizens  Meet once a month, through the end of the year  Provide comments and feedback to proposed ordinances, programs, and community conditions

Status Report: Multi-Departmental & Community Effort 19 Potential Ordinances Identified 10 Ordinances Already Adopted:  Prohibition of medical marijuana dispensaries  Regulation of Shopping carts  Moratorium on smoke shops and hookah lounges  “Florida First” Program  Sex Offender Location Restrictions  Sex offender Residency Restrictions  Group Homes & Boarding Houses  Parolee/Probationer housing (on agenda today)  Drug & Gang Related Crime on residential property  Abatement of Chronic Nuisance Properties

Draft ordinance regarding Smoke Shops and Hookah Lounges has been prepared and is in the Policy review process, having already been received and reviewed by the Hemet ROCS Citizens Advisory Committee.
