INFECTION CONTROL ASSESSMENT AND RESPONSE PROGRAM (ICAR)

Goals of Infection Prevention Assessments Strengthen Relationships Areas for Improvement Provide Education Collaborative

Agenda for Visit What to expect during the visit? Discussion with the person(s) responsible for coordinating infection prevention program activities. Focus on infection control infrastructure with emphasis on competency-based training and routine auditing of practices to ensure ongoing adherence by personnel. Will need a conference room (or office). Recommend access to facility IP policies, procedures and reports for review. Encourage facilities to have input regarding their unique challenges and needs to ensure the visit is most beneficial. Visit will take ½ day; Prefer 2 short visits on separate days.
