 Closing opportunity gaps for college and career readiness  Strengthening student preparation for post-secondary education  Provide students with a variety of opportunities to participate in rigorous college courses during high school and earn intentional credits tied to their education plan and profile. VISION AND GOALS

 Oregon Public school districts  Oregon Educational Service Districts (as a pass through to school districts)  Regional Consortiums  Oregon public post-secondary institutions  Preference will be given to those regions that have high poverty, large underserved student populations, and did not already receive funds from the Regional Promise grant. ELIGIBILITY

Closing Opportunity Gaps and Funding Service to Historically Underrepresented Students:  Describe specific strategies to address historic opportunity gaps  How will local communities and families be engaged?  How will data be monitored to ensure that progress is made? EQUITY The largest underrepresented group in dual credit are students who have experienced poverty* Resources: latino-students-families-on-college-path# latino-students-families-on-college-path#

 Racial or ethnic minorities  English language learners  First generation college going  Students with disabilities  Students experiencing poverty HISTORICALLY UNDERREPRESENTED STUDENTS Includes… but not limited to…

 Percent of students on free and reduced lunch at proposed participant schools: (you can list as many schools as will benefit from the funds)  Percent of students from historically underrepresented groups  Number of accelerated learning courses offered at schools:  Goal of increase in number of historically underserved students participating in accelerated learning opportunities as a result of program.  Estimated goal of increased number of accelerated learning courses offered:  Narrative: if goals are not necessarily about increasing number of students participating or courses offered discuss the quality improvements that will be made because of receipt of the grant funds. DEMOGRAPHICS INFORMATION NEEDED SECTION 2

Maximum $40,000 Use of funds may include the following:  Providing education or training to teachers who will provide or are providing instruction in accelerated college credit programs (The funds from the grant may not exceed one-third of the total cost of the education or training).  Assisting student in paying for books, materials, and costs, other than test fees, related to accelerated college credit programs.  Providing classroom supplies for accelerated college credit programs, including instructional materials. AWARD AMOUNTS & USE OF FUNDS SECTION 3

 Identify your need  Engage Stakeholders from all aspects of the grant (Administrators, teachers, faculty, parents, community organizations, students, school counselors, college advisors)  Choose the activities to implement those strategies PLAN YOUR PROJECT SECTION 4

 How will the proposed program increase the number of historically underrepresented students who are or will be participating within the accelerated college credit programs? “Historically Underserved student” means a student (English language learner, student of color, students experiencing poverty, or a student with disabilities) who has not historically taken high school accelerated courses and may not have considered enrolling in a post-secondary education program. Evaluation – Describe the method you will use to determine the success of the project. Grant funds cannot be used specifically for program evaluation.  Focused on identified outcomes and progress markers EVALUATION SECTION 5

 Review what is an allowable expense  Be reasonable on costs  Make sure all expenses are aligned to grant activities  Narrative provides detail and shows alignment BUDGET SUMMARY/ USE OF FUNDS SEPARATE SHEET

 Secure File Transfer Process – An electronic version of the complete application must be submitted to Elisa Rodriguez at using the Secure File Transfer system available on the ODE district website: Follow the instructions provided on the secure file transfer website. Multiple files must be compressed (zipped) into a single folder for submission.  Please name the files as follows: the agency it is being submitted from, underscore, and AcceleratedCollegeCreditGrant (ex. OregonESD_ AcceleratedCollegeCreditGrant). Only complete applications submitted by the due date will be scored. Contact the ODE helpdesk at if you need assistance with the Secure File Transfer Process. SUBMISSION
