General Objectives: Promoting UK to Japan and Information Gathering. Specific S&I objectives To establish a MoU-type formal agreement between research institutes, or a new international programme jointly funded by EPSRC and JST, or a new research exchange programme (expected to take place in next two years) that is designed for example for UK young researchers to have the opportunity to access facilities in Japan and visa versa. Specific UKTI objectives UKTI had two key objectives [1] to attract Japanese companies into the UK (e.g. establishment of R&D centres or sales operation, or expansion of existing operations in the UK).
