Presentation transcript:

A significant aspect of the current generation is its widespread usage of the internet via mobile devices. They are comfortable with technology whereas interacting on social media website accounts is a significant portion of their socializing. Collaborative recruitment will be instituted beginning with the fall semester by leveraging university social media accounts to increase branding and networking on campuses where charters have fallen inactive and those yet to discover all that Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Inc. has to offer the women of its campus. Development of a Regional App in the first 120 days will be “Central 2 It All”, informing interested woman about who to contact locally for membership, Sigma Gamma Rho community service projects and R 3 events near them. Download the Claudia4UCC app now!

Low percentages of undergraduate members transferring to alumnae chapters upon graduation is a serious issue of concern when the pledge we take at induction is to the sisterhood for a lifetime. By surveying undergraduate new members early on, their talents can be utilized in assisting with a local alumnae chapter event or on a committee. That involvement will also establish a relationship with the graduate chapters which most undergraduates give as their reason for not making the transition upon graduation. A place for an undergraduate member on each regional committee will allow their ideas to be developed, establishing their leadership in the sisterhood and giving them confidence their voice is being heard in progression of the region. Including them on different levels of the organization allows them to see we are ONE SIGMA and the value of continued membership.

The sisterhood of Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority Inc. is what links us all however most times we are not allotted the time or opportunities to network with our Sorors across the state, area or region like we would like to. Central Region has a wealth of professional and talented sorors that have something to offer the next. By utilizing the region’s Area Coordinators to coordinate collaborative national programs, chapters will benefit from multiple chapter resources while gaining fellowshipping opportunities to establish larger networks and strengthen sisterhood bonds. Host Central Region virtual hangout sessions once a semester to keep undergraduates across the region in the know about larger events that may inspire a RHOad Trip to a neighboring state or area. To utilize the professional network of sorors, institute a resume bank on the Regional Sorors Only website for our graduating seniors to post their resumes that can be searched by our alumnae sorors that may be looking to fill a position or know of an opportunity an undergraduate soror can benefit from.

The effectiveness of a program can only be measured on the successfulness of its results. While reinventing the wheel to many times can result in current resources not being used efficiently, reevaluating can reduce cost and effort while uses resources to their full potential. Many programs have been put in place to evaluate growth and sustainability, mentor leaders and involve membership. To remain effective, those programs need to be evaluated to see if there is a need to search for additional resources, dedicate more effort or cut programming all together.
