Television comedy revision

Channel identities – Public Service Broadcasters  BBC- BBC1, BBC2, BBC3 & BBC4 (plus others) A PUBLIC SERVICE BROADCASTER – licence fee pays for all output – A PSB HAS to create programmes that INFORM- News etc EDUCATE – documentaries etc and ENTERTAIN – drama/comedy  ITV - ITV2, ITV3, ITV4, ITVEncore, ITVBe the first commercial broadcaster – HAS to broadcast a certain level of local news coverage, arts and religious programming, in return for the right to broadcast.  Channel 4 C4, E4, More4, Film4 was set up by the government in 1981 to provide different forms of PSB. It was required to be a public service alternative to the BBC and to cater for minorities and arts. In 1990,Channel 4 was restructured to be a state owned corporation that is self-financing (adverts etc) They have 3 core values: CREATIVITY, INNOVATION & DIVERSITY  Channel 5 C5, 5*, 5USA, Spike was launched in 1997 and was given a number of public service requirements. These included the obligation to provide minimum amounts of programming from various genres, minimum amounts of programming originally commissioned by the channel and of European origin, and maximum limits on the number of repeats. It is a general entertainment channel that shows both internally commissioned programmes and foreign programmes. The station has been very successful with imports from the United States in particular.

ITV rebranded in 2012 and set out these channel identities:  - ITV2 is the "home of infectious entertainment", with the sixth biggest channel in the UK getting a "hot red" version of the logo and red on-screen identify, including new idents "reflecting its heightened reality world of fun and entertainment, where everyday situations get a playful ITV2 twist".  - ITV3 is positioned as the "keeper of ITV's treasured and timeless drama", with a new "midnight blue" logo and idents that feature stop-motion stories told in shadow-puppet style animation inside glass bell jars.  - ITV4 has a "slate grey" logo and becomes the "home of sport and cult classics". Channel promotion will include pub-style factoids and idents featuring viewer nominated "dreams come true", such as driving a Rolls Royce into a swimming pool.  Can you find a channel identity set out by your chosen channels?
