Education We are taking classes at Folsom Lake College because it is close, inexpensive as we qualify for instate tuition Each three unit class is $108 At two classes per semester each (not including summer) the cost is $438. The monthly average cost of education is $36.50

Entertainment / Recreation Monday night bowling special at Folsom Lake Bowl~ $20 for two Curry Club~ $20 for two all you can eat lunch Netflix~$8 p/month- Saves on movie theatre cost Total for entertainment= $48 p/month

Home Maintenance The apartment management take care of up keep of property including repairs of interior appliances etc. We are required to maintain the interior by cleaning Monthly cost of cleaning products including vacuum, broom and cleaning supplies $200 p/year Average cost $17 p/month

Clothing We budget $500 p/year on clothing. While we usually make purchases at discount stores such as Ross and Marshalls We occasionally find good buys at Goodwill and garage sales Average monthly clothing cost $42.00

Daycare $600 p/month ~ our child attends Happy Home daycare which offers some preschool activities in a home environment.

Savings & Checking ~ $400 Excess funds will remain in our checking and savings account We will use Safe Credit Union as their fees are lower than a bank. Becoming established with a credit union will allow us to get lower interest rates on any future loans. It is convenient because we can use most credit union ATM’s with no fees Our savings will be used in only times of crisis, and eventually for our retirement.

Investments We will work put $250 into the 401(K) program at work. My employer will match my contributions up to 3%.

Other Items Purchased on Credit 40-inch television - $600 Laptop Computer - $500 Other appliances provided by apartment complex The total cost monthly (at 19% interest) for all items would be $20 if I paid the minimum. I would budget $100 to pay it off quickly.
