Why Use a Budget? What Is Responsible Behavior?  Doing what you say you will  Making good choices  Accepting the consequences of your decisions  Considering how your actions will affect others

Why Use a Budget? Honesty Fairness Elements of Responsible Behavior Compassion/ Respect Accountability Courage

Why Use a Budget? Be Honest !  Admit your mistakes.  Make decisions based on evidence, not emotions.  Be open to constructive criticism.

Why Use a Budget? Be Compassionate and Respectful !  Treat people with kindness.  Put yourself in others' shoes.  Accept people who are different.

Be Fair !  Balance your needs with the needs of others.  Make sure one person doesn't always get his/her way.  Treat everyone the way you want to be treated.

Why Use a Budget? What Do You Do When...  Your friend wants you to give her free food?  You don't give a customer enough change?  A coworker is taking home office supplies?

How to Act Responsibly Follow the rules. Tell the truth. Admit your mistakes. Finish assignments with care and on time. Always act appropriately.

 Detainees experienced extreme interrogation techniques.  CIA and military said techniques were necessary to get information.  Lower ranking individuals said they were following orders.  Was their behavior responsible?
